There was an air of anticipation at the Fallon House Theater on Friday night at the opening of Sierra Repertory Theatre’s current production of the much loved musical “Annie.” And this lively rendition of the award-winning play, with its engaging characters and unforgettable musical numbers, brought the audience to its feet for a standing ovation when the curtain descended.

Carter Moore is only 15 years old but he is already making a name for himself in the karate world. Moore, who will be a sophomore at Seacrest Country Day School in the fall, left for Arlington, Texas, on Wednesday with his father, Darren, to compete in the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) National Karate Championships.
